Snowcamping - Foresdale Creek 9. - 10. 2. 2013
This is my third season snowcamping with Sierra club and we started with our first trip to Foresdale Creek near Carson pass. The hike to our snowcamping spot was only 2 miles long and not with big elevation change on our way. The weather was sunny, but very cold. The highest temperature was around 32 F and over night the temperature dropped to single digits. I think almost everybody was cold and we didn't stick at the kitchen for dinner too long. Eric and I were the only one who built snowcave which was a lot of work but definitely worth it, the temperature there didn't go under 32 F. Most people made trenches, which was still warmer than a tent.
