Lost Coast

Lost Coast is about 25 mile long trail mainly on beach in Northern part of California which I wanted to do for a while. There were always a couple of problems why it was difficult to organize trip up there, the trail is one way trip, so the shuttle between trailheads needed to be solved and there are couple of places that are not possible to pass in high tide. Also 25 miles walking on beach require usually 3 days to do it.
Having spring break and more time I posted my idea about this backpack on Meetup.com website and found 5 other adventure people who wanted to join for this trip. We were watching the weather forecast quite closely, because rain could make some creeks difficult to cross, but the weather looked OK.... until the day when we left and changed completely! At that time we were already on our way, so rain or not we decided for this amazing backpacking trip.
On Saturday morning paid shuttle took us from the end to the beginning and we started. Knowing that our car is 25 mile away and there is no way back! The headwind was hard and it didn't take too long for rain to start. Walking on beach was really difficult so we were happy to make 8 miles the first day. The weather got better in the afternoon and we had nice day in the end. During the night rain came again. We were trying to wait in the morning with packing and leaving for the rain to stop but in the end we left around 11 am. The forecast said rain for the whole day, but in the end around 2 pm stopped and we had quite nice afternoon. Since we were cold and quite wet we kept walking to keep us warm until we passed the last high tide area and saw the end of our trail. It was around 6 pm and we had about 4 miles to go. Seeing the dry clothes in our cars made us try to finish the backpack. The last mile or two we were walking in dark, but with some moonlight and on black sand beach it had its magic. We got to the car around 9.30 pm and about two minutes after that the rain started again! Great trip!

Silny vitr foukal proti nam a netrvalo dlouho a zacalo prset. Pocasi se odpoledne trochu umoudrilo a my jsme meli docela pekny den. Vidina sucheho obleceni v aute nas prinutila dokoncit cely vylet. Skvely vylet!
