MLK weekend - Truckee 19. - 21. 1. 2019

After a year of a break (we didn't want to go to mountains with newborn) we again organized cabin trip with friends. This time we had 5 families, all with children. We almost didn't go because Adam got sick on Thursday before the long weekend, but luckily it was only one day thing. On Saturday we went cross country skiing, Sunday we spent in the cabin and at the community pool (the whole day was raining) and on Monday Adam and I went downhill skiing while Eric was looking after Emma. We had a great time and we are hoping to make it back this season a few more times!

Po rocni pauze (nechteli jsem jet do hor s novorozenetem) jsem opet zorganizovali chatu s kamarady. Tentokrat tam bylo 5 rodin, vsechny s detma. My jsme skoro nejeli, protoze Adam onemocnel ve ctvrtek pred prodlouzenym vikendem, ale nastesti to byla jen jednodenni nevolnost. V sobotu jsme jeli na bezky, nedeli jsme stravili na chate a v bazenu (cely den prselo) a v pondeli jsem s Adamkem jela na sjezdovky, zatim co Eric hlidal Emicku. Moc jsme si to uzili a doufame, ze se do hor jeste tuto sezonu vypravime.

Yosemite - Thanksgiving 22. - 24. 11. 2018

We went back to Yosemite for Thanksgiving this year. We drove up on Thursday morning and tried to enjoy nice dinner at Ahwahnee hotel with two young kids :) On Friday was raining the whole day, so we spend most of the day indoors. It was nice on Saturday, so we went for short hike to Vernal falls view and then drove back home.

Tento rok jsme jeli zpet do Yosemite na den Dikuvzdani. Vyjeli jsme ve ctvrtek rano a pokusili jsme se uzit is peknou veceri v hotelu Ahwahnee se dvema malyma detma :) V patek prselo cely den a tak jsme vetsinu dne byli vevnitr. V sobotu bylo pekne a tak jsme sli na kratky vyslap k vodopadum Vernals a pak jsme jeli domu.

East Coast 22.9. - 8. 10. 2018

Our last part of our vacation was at East coast of USA. We visited New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts. We were hoping to see the fall colors. Even though the tree weren't really colorful in the end of our visit, by the end of our two weeks we saw beautiful red, yellow and orange leaves. Eric's mom also with this trip visited all 50 states of USA.

Nase posledni cast naseho cestovani byla na vychodnim pobrezi USA. Navstivili jsme New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont a Massachusetts. Doufali jsme, ze uvidime podzimni barvy. I kdyz stromy nebyly zrovna barevne, kdyz jsme prijely, nez jsme odjizdeli, tak jsme videli nadherne cervene, zlute a oranzove listi. Ericova maminka take touto cestou navstivila vsech 50 statu USA.

Portugal 29. 8. - 22. 9. 2018

Our second part of vacation was in Portugal. We rented a car and drove around the country for almost a month. We visited historical areas, vine country, national park and beaches. It wasn't always easy to travel with small children, but we had fun.

Nase druha cast dovolene byla v Portugalsku. Pronajali jsme si auto a projizdeli zemi skoro mesic. Navstivili jsme historicke oblasti, vinnou oblast, narodni park a plaze. Nebylo to vzdy jednoduche cestovat s malymi detmi, ale my jsme si to uzili.

Czech Republic 25.7. - 28. 8. 2018

Adam, Emma and I left for the Czech republic before Eric. This way we had some time to see my side of family and Eric had some time to finish some work on our house. When he joined us we visited my grandma, had week long vacation in Krkonose and saw my family at family reunion. We left Czech republic on August 29 and continued our vacation in Portugal.

Adam, Emma a ja jsme odleteli do Ceske republiky pred Ericem. Takto jsme meli cas navstivit moji stranu rodiny a Eric mel cas na praci na nasem dome. Kdyz se k nam pripojil, navstivili jsme moji babicku, udelali si tydenni dovolenou v Krkonosich a videli moji rodinu a rodinnem srazu. Z Cech jsme odleteli 29. srpna a pokracovali v nasi dovolene v Portugalsku.

Heiser lake - backpacking with children 4. - 6. 7. 2018

We like camping, but we love backpacking more! So we wanted to try to go backpacking again this year with both children. It was little bit more challenging, but we enjoyed it a lot. We found a destination that was only 2.5 miles away so Adam can walk it. We thought that it would mean that there will be a lot of day hikers, but we run into only a few people and we had the lake practically for ourselves. The distance was also manageable with our heavy (40+ lb) backpacks. We had two other families joining us and the kids had fun.

Mame radi kempovani, ale backpackovani milujeme jeste vice. Proto jsem chteli jit do hor tento rok s obema detma. Bylo to trochu vice narocne, ale uzili jsme si to hodne. Nasli jsme misto, ktere bylo jen 4 km daleko, aby to Adam mohl ujit. Mysleli jsme si, ze to bude znamenat, ze tam bude hodne lidi, ale potkali jsme jen par a meli jsme vpodstate cele jezero jen pro sebe. Vzdalenost byla taky zvladatelna s nasimi tezkymi batohy (20+ kg). Dalsi dve rodiny se k nam pripojili a detem se to libilo.

Bass lake camping 22. - 24. 6. 2018

Our second camping this year was really really hot. We went to Bass lake with other families with kids. The trees in the area weren't healthy, so many of them had to be cut down which meant that there was less shade than we would like to. Since it was so hot (around 100 F) we spent Saturday by the lake. One family brought a boat and we were lucky to got a ride!

Nase druhe kempovani tento rok bylo velice velice horke. Jeli jsme k jezeru Bass s dalsima rodinama s detmi. Stromy v oblasti byly nemocne a tak jich mnoho bylo pokaceno, coz znamenalo, ze bylo mene stinu nez bychom si prali. Jelikoz bylo takove vedro (kolem 40 C), tak jsme stravili sobotu u jezera. Jedna rodina privezla lod a my jsme meli to stesti, ze jsme se mohli svezt.
