Czech Christmas dinner and Christmas party 17. - 18. 12. 2016

This year it was for the 10th time we organized Czech Christmas dinner. As usually I made fried fish, potato salad, soup and a lot of Czech Christmas cookies. This year about 14 different kinds! It was a great evening with our friends.
On Sunday we invited other friends for our now traditional Christmas party. We played a lot of games and had fun as every year.

Tento rok jsme uz po desate organizovali tradicni ceskou vanocni veceri. Jako obvykle jsem usmazila rybu, udelala bramborovy salat, polevku a hodne ceskeho vanocniho cukrovi. Okolo 14ti druhu! Byl to super vecer s nasimi kamarady.
V nedeli jsme pak pozvali kamarady na nasi uz tradicni vanocni party. Hrali jsme hodne her a uzili si to jako kazdy rok.

Pinecrest Lake - Thanksgiving 23. - 27. 11. 2016

Last three years we went for Thanksgiving to Yosemite, this year we decided to change our tradition. We went with three other families to Pinecrest Lake area, where we rented a cabin for four nights. Not all the families stayed the whole time, but we still had a great time. Eric and I went for a long hike the first day, but unfortunately Eric's knee started to hurt so the following days we were quite lazy. On Friday we found little snow and took Adam for his first sledding. On Saturday afternoon/evening the storm came in and we woke up to nice snow powder outside. It was shame that we didn't have more time to enjoy it.

Posledni tri roky jsme jezdili na Den Dikuvzdani do Yosemite, tento rok jsme se rozhodli nasi tradici trochu pozmenit. S dalsimi tremi rodinami jsme jeli do oblesti jezera Pinecrest, kde jsme si pronajali chatu na ctyri noci. Ne vsechny rodiny zustali po celou dobu, ale i tak jsme si to uzili. Eric a ja jsme se vydali na delsi vyslap prvni den, ale bohuzel Erica zacalo bolet koleno a nasledujici dny jsme byli docela lenivi. V patek jsme nasli trochu snehu a vzali Adamka na prvni projizdku na sanich. V sobotu vecer prisla vanice a my jsme se probudili do bile nadilky. Skoda, ze jsme si ji nemohli vice uzit.

Yosemite 12.- 13. 11. 2016

Last few year we were going for Thanksgiving to Yosemite. This year we choose to go somewhere else, so we decided to take a trip to the NP some other weekend. We managed to get a heated cabin in Half Dome village (used to be Curry village). On Saturday we hiked up to Vernal falls through the mist trail which was open. On Sunday we went to Colombia rock, to see the views of Half Dome before we headed back home.

Poslednich par let jsme jezdili na Den Dikuvzdani do Yosemite. Tento rok jsme se vyrazime  nekam jinam, ale rozhodli jsme se vyjet do Yosemite jiny vikend. Podarilo se nam zamluvit vyhrivany stan v Half Dome Village (puvodne Curry Village). V sobotu jsme si vysli k vodopadum Vernal zkrz cestu, kde strikalo z vodopadu, ktera byla otevrena. V nedeli jsme si vysli k vyhlidce Colombia, abychom se podivali na Half Dome nez jsme vyrazili zpet domu.
