Hetch Hetchy 24. - 26. 5. 08

Long time ago I reserved permits for backpacking for long weekend at Hetch Hetchy (Yosemite). I was really looking forward to it! It was great even though we felt quite often really misurable - it almost didn't stop rainning for three days, or maybe for the time when it was actually snowing. The first day we did about 11 miles, mainly uphill, the secon day we walked about the same, but this time more in snow and rain and the third was the shortest and just with least of rain.

Uz pred nejakou dobou jsem zamluvila povoleni pro kempovani na prodlouzeny vikend na Hetch Hetchy (Yosemite). Moc jsem se tesila! Byl to skvely vikend, i kdyz jsem se mnohokrat citily pod psa.. - temer cele tri dny neprestalo prset, tedy mozna na ten cas, co snezilo. Prvni den jsme usli asi 17 km, hlavne dokopce, druhy den jsme usli asi stejnou vzdalenost, ale tentokrat vice ve snehu a desti a treti den byl nejkradsi a jen s trochou deste.

Graduation/promoce 23.5.08

After about 2 and half years I finished a program at West Valley college and obtain A. S. Degree in Web Design and Production: Production emphasis. The Graduation was May 23. That day I had lunch with other international students and our international counsellor gave us sahs in colors of our home country. In the evening there was the official graduation.

Asi po dvou a pul letech jsem uspesne ukoncila studium na West Valley College v oboru web design. Slavnostni ukonceni bylo 23. Kvetna. V ten samy den jsem poobedvala s dalsimi mezinarodnimi studenty a nase studijni poradkyne nam dali serpu v barvach nasich zemi. Vecer pak bylo oficialni ukonceni.

Bay to Brakers 18.5.08

This was the second year when I run famous San Francisco run - Bay to Brakers which is 12 km/over 7 miles run. This year I run with Petra and with about 5 minutes stop for restroom and some short stops for photos, we managed to reach the finish line in about 1 hour and 36 minutes, which compared to my time last year it was about 21 secs faster!!!!

Tento rok jsem bezela uz po druhe znamy San Francisky beh - Bay to Brakers - coz je 12 km/pres 7 mil dlouhy beh. Tento rok jsem bezela s Petrou a s asi 5ti minutovou prestavkou na zachod a nekolika kratkymi pauzami na foceni jsme dosahly cile za 1 hodinu a 36 minut, coz v porovnani s mym casem minuly rok jsem je asi o 21 vterin rychlejsi!

Yosemite 10. - 11. 5. 2008

My plans for this weekend were completelly different, but in the end I was glad that I ended up at one of my favorite spots on the world - Yosemite NP.
I went with group of 11 of my friends on Friday night, but the first day I went just with Petra to the top of Yosemite Falls. We were trying to reach Eagle peak, but unfortunatelly quite a lot of the trail was under snow so we lost the trail and didn't make it. But even without reaching the peak it was hard and beautiful hike.
The second day we drove to the Glacial point. Three more friends arrived so we were group of 15, but not all of us wanted to go for hike, so a few people drove cars back to Valley and the rest took 8.5 mile Panorama trail to the Yosemite Valley. It was again beautiful hike with great views.
We arrieved back home around 2 am!

Me plany pro tento vikend byly uplne jine, ale nakonec jsem byla velice rada kdyz jsem skoncila na jednom z mych nejoblibenejsich mist na svete - Yosemite NP.
Jela jsem v patek s dalsimi 11 kamarady, ale prvni den jsem sla jen s Petrou na vrchol Yosemitskych vodopadu. Snazily jsme dojit az na Eagle peak, ale protoze velka cast cesty byla pod snehem, cestu jsme nekde ztratily a na vrchol jsme to nezvladly. Ale i tak to byla sice narocna ale prekrasna tura.
Druhy den jsme jeli na Glacial point. Tri dalsi kamaradi prijeli, tak ze nas ted bylo 15, ale ne vsichni chteli jit na turu a tak par lidi privezlo auta zpet do Valley a ten zbytek jsme sesli 8.5 milovou cestou - Panorama trail - zpet do Valley. Byla to opet uzasna tura s nadhernymi vyhledy.
Zpet domu jsme dorazili kolem 2 rano!

Martinova narozeninova vecere - Martin's birthday dinner 6.5.2008

May 8th Martin celebrated 30th birthday and since he appriciate more dumplings than cake I made good czech dinner for him as my present.

Rafting 3. - 4. 5. 08

Rafting again! This was for me the third year in row when I went rafting. This time to Tuolumne river near Yosemite NP. The great thing about this year was that on the river wasn't anybody than 21 of us!
Although the rafting was on Sunday, my weekend started on Saturday when six of us decided to leave the city earlier and we did two short hikes in Yosemite NP, then the most of the rest of the group came in the evening and we enjoyed some time around fire.

Opet rafting! Toto byl uz treti rok v rade kdy jsem jela na rafting. Tento rok to bylo na rece Tuolumne pobliz Yosemitskeho NP. Skvele tento rok bylo, ze krome nasi skupiny o 21 lidech na rece nikdo jiny nebyl!
I kdyz rafting byl v nedeli, muj vikend zacal uz v sobotu, kdy se sest z nas rozhodlo vyrazit drive a zvladli jsme udelat dva kratke vylety v Yosemitech, pak vetsina nasi skupiny dorazila na vecer a posedeli jsme jeste u taboraku.

Santa Cruz 27.4.08

On Sunday I didn't have big plan - just go bike riding with Petra and then for swim, but it ended up little bit differently.... In the afternoon we went to Santa Cruz to play voleyball - we had such a great time that we decided finish our day in Greek restaurant and then with ice cream..... (the photos are Petra's)

V nedeli jsem nemela moc velke plany - jen projizdka na kole s Petrou a pak plavani, ale nakonec vse zkoncilo jinak.... Odpoledne jsme jeli do Santa Cruz hrat volejbal a nakonec jsme docela super den zakoncili v recke restauraci a pozdeji jeste zmrzlinou..... (fotky jsou Petrine)

Kirkwood - winter/zima 07/08

This winter I bought season pass for Kirkwood so I spent quite a lot of weekends skiing there. It was quite good season!

Tuto zimu jsem si koupila sezonni listek na Kirkwood a tak jsem mnoho vikendu lyzovala tam. Byla to docela dobra sezona!
