Russian River 26. - 27. 7. 2008

I spent one relaxing weekend at Russian River. On Saturday we drove up there and visited Korbel winery which has roots in Bohemia - today Czech Republic. On Sunday we rented kayaks and slowly floated on Russian river for about 16 miles!

Stravila jsem odpocinkovy vikend na Russian rece. V sobotu jsme vyrazili a navstivili vinny sklep Korbel, ktery ma zaklady na uzemi dnesni Ceske republiky. V nedeli jsme si pujcili kajaky a pomalu sjely Russian reku - asi 16 mil.

Monterey 20. 7. 2008

This supposed to be nice sunny Sunday at Monterey beach. The plan was to start with sea kayaking and have BBQ later, the reality was, that everybody was freezing, so we just played volleyball to warm up, have the BBQ and finish up with fire on the beach.

Toto mela byt pekna slunna nedele na plazi v Monterey. Plan byl zacit s kajakem na mori a pak grilovat pozdeji, realitou bylo, ze vsichni mrzli, tak jsme jen hrali volejbal na zahrani, pote jsme meli grilovani a nakonec maly ohynek na plazi.

Desolation Wilderness 12. - 13. 7.08

We walked on this trail in March in my winter backpacking trip, but because we didn't know where exactly the trail was, we didn't make it too far. It was interesting to see the scenery in different month and surprisingly we weren't too far off the path. The climb was so strenuous that we wouldn't make it in the winter probably even if we new where to go.
It was so nice that we slept under the stars on one big rock!

Tuto cestu jsem sla uz jednou v Breznu na zimnim kempovani, ale protoze jsme nevedeli presne kudy vede cesta, tak jsme se daleko nedostali. Bylo zajimave videt krajinu v jinem mesici a prekvapive jsme zjistili, ze jsme nebyli az tak daleko od cesty. Cesta byla ale docela narocna a tak asi i kdybychom vedeli kudy vede, tak bychom nedosahly cile.
Bylo nadherne a tak jsme spali pod hvezdama na jedne velke skale!

Ten Lakes - Yosemite 4. - 6.7. 2008

The Independence day was this year on Friday so it was good opportunity to get out for three-days backpacking trip. Petra, Miro, Dimitrij and I went to my favorite park - Yosemite. In three days we did about 25 miles. We started by Ten Lakes trail and walked half circle around many other lakes, the last one was May Lake. The big downside of this trip was huge amount of mosquitoes!

Den nezavislosti byl v Patek a tak to byla dobra prilezitost jit na tri denni turu. Petra, Miro, Dimitrij a ja jsme vyrazili na me oblibene misto - Yosemite. Za tri dny jsme zvladli asi 40 km. Zacali jsme u Ten Lakes a obesli jsme pul kolecko okolo mnoha dalsich jezer, to posledni bylo May Lake. Jedinne co nam kazilo radost na ceste bylo obrovske mnozstvi komaru!

Peru 7. - 29. 6. 08

I went for my big holiday this year to Peru. I joined tour with G.A.P. adventure and I spent about three weeks with great group of people traveling around Peru - from Lima - Pisco - Nazca - Arequipa - Colca Canyon - Puno - Cuzco - Inca Trail - Amazon - back to Lima. I took too many photos (as usual) so I will try to divide them into a few sections. More about my tour can be found also at my journal.

Tento rok jsem se vydala na dovolenou do Peru. Pripojila jsem se k cestovni kancelari G.A.P. a stravila jsem asi tri tydny se skvelou skupinou lidi cestovanim kolem Peru - Lima - Pisco - Nazca - Arequipa - Colca Canyon - Puno - Cuzco - Inca Trail - Amazon - a zpet Lima. Nafotila jsem opet prilis mnoho fotek (jako obvykle) a tak se pokusim vse rozdelit do nekolika casti. Vice o mem cestovani je mozne najit v mem cestovnim deniku.

Hetch Hetchy 24. - 26. 5. 08

Long time ago I reserved permits for backpacking for long weekend at Hetch Hetchy (Yosemite). I was really looking forward to it! It was great even though we felt quite often really misurable - it almost didn't stop rainning for three days, or maybe for the time when it was actually snowing. The first day we did about 11 miles, mainly uphill, the secon day we walked about the same, but this time more in snow and rain and the third was the shortest and just with least of rain.

Uz pred nejakou dobou jsem zamluvila povoleni pro kempovani na prodlouzeny vikend na Hetch Hetchy (Yosemite). Moc jsem se tesila! Byl to skvely vikend, i kdyz jsem se mnohokrat citily pod psa.. - temer cele tri dny neprestalo prset, tedy mozna na ten cas, co snezilo. Prvni den jsme usli asi 17 km, hlavne dokopce, druhy den jsme usli asi stejnou vzdalenost, ale tentokrat vice ve snehu a desti a treti den byl nejkradsi a jen s trochou deste.

Graduation/promoce 23.5.08

After about 2 and half years I finished a program at West Valley college and obtain A. S. Degree in Web Design and Production: Production emphasis. The Graduation was May 23. That day I had lunch with other international students and our international counsellor gave us sahs in colors of our home country. In the evening there was the official graduation.

Asi po dvou a pul letech jsem uspesne ukoncila studium na West Valley College v oboru web design. Slavnostni ukonceni bylo 23. Kvetna. V ten samy den jsem poobedvala s dalsimi mezinarodnimi studenty a nase studijni poradkyne nam dali serpu v barvach nasich zemi. Vecer pak bylo oficialni ukonceni.
